Well, we rolled into Ashland, WI, yesterday afternoon after enjoying a short, relaxing ride. After a hunt for fresh donuts, we left Michigan- the last of the border crossings. The road was fast and our legs felt wonderful. We stopped at Waverly Beach for our final lunch on the road. Thus far, for lunches we enjoyed bagels covered with peanut butter, honey, raisins, sesame sticks, and bananas. As Allissa said, “We ride fully loaded and we eat fully loaded bagels too.” It was wonderful to be back at the beach… where Superior Connections all started.
We hit the final stretch of road into Ashland. We were excited, but not yet ready to be done. It felt like a normal day, except we knew that tomorrow we would not be back on the bikes. Strange. After greeting friends and family, we took warm showers and treated ourselves to dinner.
Thank you Lake Superior for helping us to become strong individuals, both mentally and physically. We have enjoyed all that you had to offer us and we hope to return soon!
